Weekend of 23-24th May 2015:

This weekend includes the extra 'East meets West' mini tournament games.

Friday Night Skating at the Ravens rink from 5pm. Free entry to all Waihi Miners wearing their yellow playing shirts.

Saturday Night Dinner at the rink at 6.30pm. This is for all to enjoy and supplied by the club. Dinner is very basic - sausages and salad.

For those who don't know we will be having an U8 Game in the weekend, time to be advised. If you are around please come and support these little guys.

There is a Roller Hockey game being played on Saturday on the small rink. If we could please make sure we access the changing rooms by going around the outside back of the rink not through.

The 2015 NZ Oceania inline hockey teams competed at the Oceania Championships in Australia in early April.

Waihi Miners NZ Representatives Players:
Back row: Caleb Ibbotson (Goalie U17), Zane Cleary (U17), Joeb Ibbotson (U14) and Luke Burgess (Goalie Vets)
Front row: Johnnie Andrews-Nye (U17), Toby Grindlay (Goalie U12), Katie Lovell (Junior Women's) & Jamie Mudford (Junior Women's).

Junior Women's & Under 14's won Gold.

The Waihi Miners Inline Hockey Club entered 6 teams into the 2015 Mt Wellington Invitational.  The 20th Anniversary Tournament was held over the Easter Weekend at the Panthers Inline Hockey Club's rink in Mt Wellington, Auckland.

The Under 10 team was a mixed club team made up with players from the Waihi Miners and the Hamilton Devils.  Successfully winning their four games, resulted in the Under 10 team earning their spot in the Sunday afternoon final.  Congratulations to the Under 10 team for placing 1st and winning themselves Gold.

Waihi Miners Under 12 team won two games and drew one game resulting in playing in the Semi Finals on Sunday afternoon.  They played again on Monday morning in the final.  Congratulations to the Under 12 team for placing 2nd and winning Silver.

This year the Waihi Miners Inline Hockey Club has two Under 14 teams.  Miners Black and Miners Yellow.  Miners Yellow won three games.  Miners Black won one game.  Miners Black vs. Miners Yellow played in the 3/4 final with the Miners Yellow placing 3rd and the Miners Black placing 4th.  Congratulations to the Under 14 Yellow for winning Bronze.

Waihi Miners Under 19 team drew two games, won their Semi Final on Sunday and played on Monday.  Congratulations to the Under 19's for placing 2nd and winning Silver.

The Waihi Miners Senior team played a number of exciting games with their final game on Sunday night going into a 5 minute overtime and winning their game with less than a minute on the Scoreboard.  Congratulations to the Seniors.

The following players also received additional trophies for the Most Valuable Goalie in their grade:

• Under 19's  - Caleb Ibbotson
• Seniors - Luke Burgess
