Presidents Report - 24 February 2011

Welcome to a new year of Hockey.  Yehaa.
We are confident of having a strong U14’s Team this season and hope to put together an U12’s and Senior Social too.  So if you are keen to join our fantastic club, please come along on a Wednesday evening to see what it is all about or attend our muster on Thursday 3rd March from 5pm at Waihi Event Centre.  Muster will be followed by our AGM and Committee Meeting.  All Welcome.  We are looking for a few more people to join our Committee.

Friday Night Skating started up again mid February (on every Friday 6-8.30pm at Wahi Event Centre) with many enthusiastic skaters, young and old, having a fun evening.

Congratulations to our club members, Gina Davis and Samantha Attwell (and past member Hannah Shields) for making it into the NZ Junior Woman’s Team.  They will be competing in Australia Easter Weekend and we wish them well.  Thank you to Newmont Gold for their contribution to the girl’s trip. Have a fantastic time girls.  Well done also to other past members of our club representing New Zealand at this tournament and throughout the season.

On a personal note, I am excited to announce the arrival of our beautiful baby girl.  Born 14 February, at home. 6.14pounds and as yet unnamed, though Rosie has named her ‘Puck’.
